Admission Policy
Dhahran High School offers an academically-rigorous college preparatory program. The goal of the program is to enable graduates to be accepted into competitive universities in the United States and throughout the world. The focus of high school is its academic core (English, social studies, mathematics, and science), with a selection of Advanced Placement (AP) classes, and a limited number of electives in the areas of physical education, fine arts, business and technology, and global languages.
Because Dhahran High School does not offer a comprehensive high school to meet all students' needs, admissions is based on the following criteria:
- The applicant must intend to enter a four-year college program following graduation from high school;
- The applicant must have a consistent record of earning C's and above in their previous classes;
- The applicant must demonstrate the ability to earn C's and above in their classes at Dhahran High School;
- The applicant must be recommended by their former language arts and mathematics teachers;
- The applicant must have a good discipline record, which indicates the ability to accept the authority of school personnel.
The school's admissions committee will consider all applicants with the above criteria in mind. If it is determined that an applicant cannot demonstrate the ability to be successful in this academic college-prep environment, the application will be denied.
Honor Roll
