NESA Math

The duel of the math minds is on every fall. Each year the school participates in the 7-12 Near East/South Asia (NESA) Math Challenge. Many schools fall in this region, and about thirty schools participate in the NESA challenge. This challenge is a voluntary math competition that is comprised of six problems designed to promote interest and enthusiasm for math and develop problem-solving skills through friendly competition. There are four challenges throughout the school year. The highest five scores from each exam are totaled and submitted to NESA. The school with the highest score wins the year’s competition, which is announced at the Spring NE/SA teacher’s conference. Our high school has performed superbly, placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in recent years. We also reward our schools highest contenders at our final awards assembly in May.
