Dhahran High School was founded in 1999. The American Based curriculum is developed to meet the needs of international students in grades 9 through 12. The school is located in Dhahran adjacent to the United States Consulate for the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This site is in close proximity to the commercial and government centers of Al-Khobar and Dammam, the Royal Saudi Air Base, King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals and the Headquarters for Saudi ARAMCO, the Saudi National Oil Company.
In addition to the core academic program which includes Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Physical Education, nine Advanced Placement courses are available. DHS offers a wide range of elective courses: Theatre, Media Arts, Band, Art, Photography, Computer Programming, Desktop Publishing, Web Page Design, Computer Aided Design and many more. Students also have the opportunity to study French, Spanish, and Arabic languages. There are many after school activities including Sports, Music, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, Habitat for Humanity, Theatre and various clubs revolving around different student interests.
